The TCU Horned Frogs are less than 10 days from kicking off the 2025 football season with a nonconference road matchup against the North Carolina Tar Heels and new head coach Bill Belichick. As we count down the days until kickoff, we’ll highlight a former (or current) Horned Frog whose jersey number represents the number of days left until the opener.

7 – Kenny Hill (Quarterback – 2016-17)
After garnering the nickname “Kenny Trill” at Texas A&M, Hill transferred to TCU, where he played 25 games over
the 2016 and 2017 seasons. A high school star at Southlake Carroll, Hill guided the Horned Frogs to an 11-3 record in 2017, when he earned Offensive MVP honors during the Alamo Bowl win over Stanford. Over two years at TCU, Hill threw for 6,046 yards and 38 touchdowns while rushing for 874 yards and 14 touchdowns. In 2017, when the Horned Frogs advanced to the Big 12 championship against Oklahoma, Hill was named a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award and a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
Hill, who was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the 2016 Liberty Bowl against Georgia, signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Hill also made a brief stint with the Montreal Alouettes in 2018 before transitioning into his coaching career. As a coach, Hill has worked his way through the ranks, starting at TCU as a student assistant before becoming a graduate assistant in 2019, an offensive analyst in 2020 and a quarterbacks coach in 2021. Hill worked as an offensive quality control coach at California in 2022 and was brought on to be the associate head coach and running backs coach at Incarnate Word in 2023. Hill currently serves as Incarnate Word’s co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach.
