Florida State is set to add to its coaching staff, reportedly bringing former Syracuse and UConn head coach Paul Pasqualoni aboard.
The news was first reported by ESPN.
Pasqualoni, currently serving as a defensive line coach at a high school in Connecticut, has both a son and daughter on the Boston College coaching staff, so he’ll be joining the Seminoles after the two schools face off this weekend.
FSU is bringing in the extra help after parting ways with both defensive coordinator Tony White and safeties
coach Evan Cooper. Linebackers coach Ernie Sims was elevated to the position of interim defensive coordinator.
Pasqualoni has been coaching on some level since 1972, serving as the head coach at Syracuse for 14 years and as an NFL assistant for 11 years, also holding the head coach position at UConn for parts of three seasons. His other roles have included a two-year stint as Boston College’s defensive line coach and a special assistant to the head coach at Florida.
