The Kansas City Chiefs got the ball to start the second half up 7-6 over the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs have luck on their side with Chris Oladokun fumbling and then picking up the pass and completing
it for a big gain, then a yolo ball to no one ends up a defensive pass interference on Pat Surtain II. Typical Broncos football…
Dondrea Tillman and Jonah Elliss converged on a huge sack on the very next play and quickly got the Chiefs into a third and 19. Elliss would read a screen pass perfectly to push them back another five yards to bring out the Chiefs field goal unit for a 53-yard field goal.
Chiefs 10, Broncos 6.
Denver’s offense continued to keep most throws short and did pick up a first down to start their drive, but then found themselves in a third and three on the next set of downs. Bo Nix, who has struggled all game, found Adam Trautman over the middle out past midfield for the big first down.
On the next play, a juggled pass by Evan Engram was completed, but a pass interference call on Engram negated the play. The replay shows the weakest OPI call ever.
That was three terrible calls on Denver in the game up to this point. Nix took it right back on a nice sideline throw to Courtland Sutton who gained 23-yards and a first down anyway.
RJ Harvey was tackled for a five yard loss, but then came back with a reception in the flat for a 14-yard gain to bring up a third and short. Nix would find Troy Franklin for the first down reception at the Chiefs 19-yard line.
They’d convert a fourth down at the 10 to setup a first and goal change from the Chiefs eight yard line. Bo Nix would nearly fail to get the ball snapped before a delay of game, but then ran it in from eight yards out for the touchdown to cap the 14-play, 72 yard drive.
Broncos 13, Chiefs 10.
The third quarter would end with the Chiefs facing a fourth down and needing to punt it back to the Broncos.
