Modern football has seen a greater appreciation for young, up and coming talents. More and more clubs are focusing on youngsters with resale value, which in turn leads the selling clubs to raising the price
of their young, talented players. That may somewhat explain the rumored price tag on Bayern Munich target Nathan De Cat’s head. Because, according to Sky Sport reporters Florian Plettenberg and Patrick Berger, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, the price tag for the 17-year-old is quite high:
Anderlecht want around €25m for Nathan De Cat. As things stand, it’s a three-way race between Bayern, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen for the 17-year old.
If Anderlecht were able to rake in €25m for De Cat, that would make the teenager their second most expensive sale in their history (more or less tied with Axel Witsel), just behind Jérémy Doku’s €27m move to Stade Rennais in 2021.
Of course, it yet to be seen how well the Beligan club can hold out for that fee. De Cat’s contract expires in 2027, so if Anderlecht cannot renew his contract, they might have to sell him for a cut price fee 9n 2026. Perhaps they would be hoping for a bidding war to drive up his price tag.
