After marriage, Johnny Dango Curtis is ready for the next chapter of life, so he decided to call it a career for his retirement match at TNA Genesis (Jan. 17, 2026). Dango hit his signatures moves and
paid homage to Chris Jericho. Most importantly, there was no quit in Curtis.
JDC wrestled close friend and System teammate Eddie Edwards. He trusted that Eddie wouldn’t hold back. Dango also warned that he isn’t going out like a punk. If Eddie doesn’t pull the trigger, then he will.
Midway through the match, Dango found his groove for a tornado DDT and a Falcon Arrow slam.
Edwards stormed back for a Blue Thunder Bomb, then he transitioned to a sleeper. Instead of wilting to quit like John Cena, JDC flashed a smile to keep fighting. Curtis escaped and caught Edwards for the Walls of Jericho. As soon as Edwards was free, Dango struck with a Codebreaker. Those moves are in honor of Fandango’s WrestleMania match versus Chris Jericho.
Curtis had momentum for an avalanche Air Raid Crash. JDC continued the flow for a flying leg drop. Edwards dodged the maneuver and pounced for the Boston Knee Party. Dango showed guts to kick out of the pin. Edwards delivered another Boston Knee Party. JDC wouldn’t stay down on the pin. Edwards honored his word to pull the trigger. He added a Die Hard Driver and a third Boston Knee Party to finish Dango’s career.
After losing his retirement match, Dango savored the moment with the System. The locker room applauded with support from on stage.
