During an interview this week on Skratch N’ Sniff, Chris Jericho revealed that a TV series about the early part of his wrestling career is moving to the pilot phase. The 55-year-old AEW star broke the news while admitting that if a movie was ever made about his life, 62-year-old Brad Pitt would be too old to play him.
“It’s one of those things where whoever would play me, we probably don’t even know. You can’t say Brad Pitt ’cause Brad Pitt’s older than me.
But we are actually working on something
based on my first book, A Lion’s Tale, that we’ve been working on for a while, of doing a TV series based on that. We’ve kind of moved it up the food chain, and it’s getting pretty close to filming a pilot. And we do have an actor that is very similar to me when he was first starting out, that was from the Letterkenny series, if you ever watched that show.
So yeah, there might be something very, very soon, of not just an autobiography, because that’s not enough because I’m Chris Jericho, right? I always have to push the envelope. We might have a whole actual TV series about kind of the early years of my career, which would be a lot of fun. So, that’s something we’re working on, and we’re moving to the pilot stage fairly, fairly soon.
…I won’t say who it is in Letterkenny but, there is a real facial similarity.”
Does this sound like a project you’d be interested in checking out, or no due to the lack of old man Brad Pitt? Give me your reaction to Jericho’s TV news in the comments below, Cagesiders.
