More Bobo is on the menu for the 2026 Seattle Seahawks!
On Monday, the Seahawks matched the Jacksonville Jaguars’ offer sheet for Jake Bobo, ensuring that the 27-year-old wide receiver would remain in Seattle through the end of the 2027 season. Bobo was evidently delighted to remain with the reigning Super Bowl champions, expressing his gratitude for giving him a chance as an undrafted free agent in 2023.
“This is everything you want coming into the league,” Bobo said (via Seahawks.com). “I love this
organization. This organization gave me a shot in the NFL. I owe my career to this organization, so to be able to stay here and build on what we’ve already built, it means a whole lot for John (Schneider) and the guys upstairs to put some trust in me to help this organization.
“I didn’t want to go anywhere else. Obviously, it looked like there was a shot I was going to end up in Jacksonville, but in the back of my mind, I was hoping the guys upstairs would make something happen, and they did. I was incredibly thankful for that. I knew where I wanted to be, I knew where home was, and I’m definitely glad it worked out.”
Bobo was one of 13 Seahawks free agents that were brought back for at least another year, joining Rashid Shaheed as one of two Seattle receivers to be signed to a multi-year deal this off-season. The former Duke and UCLA wideout has appeared in 45 games over his time with the Seahawks, developing into an efficient blocker while also recording 34 receptions for 323 yards and three TDs.
Both sides wanted More Bobo, and they were committed to getting it done.
“When you think about this organization, who the guys are in the locker room, who the staff is upstairs, all of that (playing time/role) comes secondary to what’s really important, which is, I want to play for this organization, this city, and the guys in the locker room,” Bobo said. “When I’m making a decision, that’s where I start, that’s what’s important. If you’re giving me the choice, I’m choosing this place 10 out of 10 times.”
Other notable figures within the organization have commended Bobo’s efforts on the field, excited to see him return to Seattle for 2026. Following the NFC title game, Sam Darnold noted Bobo’s critical third-down conversion the previous week, but also highlighted the wideout’s other significant contributions in 2025, including his efforts as a blocker.
Mike Macdonald had similar praise for Bobo, speaking highly about his leadership qualities when asked about his touchdown this postseason. “I’m not surprised. That’s Jake Bobo. That’s the guy we know, we love. A couple weeks ago he was a captain and shows you like the respect that he carries throughout the team and how much we appreciate him, how much we respect him. So for him to make a play in that setting, yeah, you’re just fired up for the guy. Just really happy for him.”
Glad to have you back, Bobo!
