The Golden State Warriors begin a three-game road trip with Sunday afternoon’s matchup against the Toronto Raptors. The game will be played at 12:30 PM PT in Toronto and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State is once again above .500 on the season after defeating the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day, 126–116. It was a balanced
team effort, with seven Warriors scoring in double figures, led by Steph Curry who finished with a team-high 23 points.
The game also marked another reunion with former Warrior Klay Thompson. The Mavericks’ shooting guard scored seven points in another highly anticipated return to the Chase Center — something his former coaches and teammates in the Bay are still adjusting to.
What to watch for tonight:
Sunday’s matchup against the Raptors marks the first night of a back-to-back for the Warriors. Because of this, Golden State — which has been relatively healthy as of late — is expected to follow its usual load management routine for veterans Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton.
Golden State has found some much-needed consistency in its rotation. After a stretch where head coach Steve Kerr rolled out nine different starting lineups in nine games, he has stuck with the same group — Curry, Moses Moody, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and Quinten Post — over the past five games. Expect Kerr to keep that lineup intact as the Warriors look to carry the momentum from their three-game home winning streak into this road trip.
