Early on in their contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Minnesota Vikings lost their best player, and it is not yet known how long he will be out.
Wide receiver Justin Jefferson was injured on the opening drive of the game for the Vikings. He went into the blue medical tent to have his ankle looked at and was declared questionable to return. He then went back to the locker room and did not come out to the sideline with the rest of the team when the second half started, and shortly after that,
he was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The injury occurred on a long third-down play where the Vikings called a screen pass to Jefferson that gained enough yardage to set up a 54-yard Will Reichard field goal for the first points of the game. He did not come back into the game again after that.
This is, obviously, a situation that we will be monitoring for the remainder of this week as we go forward, with the Vikings getting prepared to host the Miami Dolphins at U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 4.
Once again, Vikings’ wide receiver Justin Jefferson suffered an ankle injury on the first drive of the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and did not (and will not) return to the game.
