The Los Angeles Chargers now know what their 2026 schedule looks like, and it’s safe to say the schedule gods weren’t shining down on the Bolts.
The Chargers will face off against four teams coming off their bye, which is tied for the most in the NFL next to the Philadelphia Eagles.
In Week 6, the Chargers will travel to Arrowhead to take on the Kansas City Chiefs, who are one of two teams with the earliest possible bye in Week 5. By then, Patrick Mahomes should be fully healthy from his ACL recovery
and ready to take on the Chargers for the first time since he hurt his knee against them back in December.
In Week 9, the Chargers will host the Houston Texans, who enjoy their bye in Week 8. The Chargers lost to the Texans at SoFi Stadium last season, so this presents an opportunity for revenge.
In Week 12, the Chargers will get a crack at the defending AFC champion New England Patriots at home for Sunday Night Football. The Chargers’ season came to an end last season against the Pats in the Wild Card round, so Los Angeles will get hyped for this game.
Lastly, the Chargers draw the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14 during their annual trip to Allegiant Stadium in Sin City. This will mark the second meeting of the season between the AFC West rivals after the Raiders head to LA in Week 2.
BFTB community, what do you make of the Chargers playing four teams coming off a bye? Will that be a true disadvantage to the team this season? Chime off in the comments section below.
