Mark Pope is definitely a man of the people. Despite the fair criticism of his coaching abilities last season, Pope has been very in-tune with Big Blue Nation and inclusive of the fans as much as he can possibly be.
Pope continued that trend on Thursday when he cast out a surprise invitation for the final hour of the team’s final summer practice.
A few takeaways from KSR’s Zack Geoghegan were that Zoom Diallo is the team’s clear leader and Jerone Morton is was a nice standout this summer. Meanwhile,
Jack Pilgrim believes the team could push to shoot 30 three-pointers per game and Mason Williams has — so far — lived up to the hype.
There are a lot of intriguing storylines with this year’s Kentucky team. So many new faces and so many questions of just how good (or not so good) the Wildcats will be.
The Southeastern Conference has proven over the last several years that it’s no cakewalk. Pope and his guys will need to continue to build off of their summer momentum when they return from break in a few weeks.
