The Dallas Cowboys are adding more depth to their wide receiver room. Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, veteran Marquez Valdes-Scantling is singing a one-year deal with the Cowboys.
Valdes-Scantling is a former fifth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft of the Green Bay Packers. He spent four years with them and racked up 123 receptions for 2,153 yards and 13 touchdowns. Valdes-Scantling spent two
years with the Kansas City Chiefs and produced 63 receptions for 1,003 yards and three scores, and more importantly, he earned two Super Bowls rings.
In 2024, Valdes-Scantling spent time with the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints. He played in 14 games and registered 19 catches for 411 yards and four touchdowns (all with the Saints). 2025 was a wild ride for Valdes-Scantling as he signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks. However, he was released during their final roster cuts. After signing to the practice squad of the San Francisco 49ers, he signed to the practice squad of the Pittsburgh Steelers after he was released due to being injured with a calf injury. He finished with 13 receptions for 120 yards and one touchdown.
In addition to signing Valdes-Scantling, the Cowboys are meeting with WR Tyler Johnson and LB Curtis Robinson. There’s a possibility both could sign today as well.
