Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Ahmad Hardy and Jason Crowe Jr.
Ahmad Hardy has been deserving of the national attention. He was named a Doak Walker finalist and landed on All-SEC teams. Though, reaching All-American status is a different level in becoming an elite player in college football.
On Wednesday, he was announced a First Team-All American by On3.
Per The Athletic and CBS Sports, he was also named a First Team
All-American. Expect him land on many more lists.
He was also named to First Team AP All-SEC.
And ICYMI: Mizzou Hoops has the top recruiting class in the country next season highlighted by Jason Crowe Jr. — who recently broke the California High School All-Time Scoring Record.

The Tigers doubled their total from last season after having three players receive honors last year (Luther Burden, Armand Membou, Johnny Walker). This also marks the third consecutive year the Tigers have had a first-team All-SEC offensive lineman dating back to Javon Foster in 2023.
Mizzou was well represented in the All-SEC teams. Somewhat surprising from a team that only went 8-4, but it showed the Tigers had the talent.
Entering this offseason Mizzou will need to be active again in the transfer portal in order to become a legitimate threat to make the College Football Playoff next year.
Mizzou will be losing some key pieces in this offseason, so the transfer portal activity haul should be active again.
The bottom line is the Tigers’ passing offense never found consistent rhythm, and turnovers remained a problem. Those issues go well beyond the quarterbacks, but they also didn’t perform as well as hoped.
Nathan gives Mizzou’s most important position (QB) a C+. Something that will need to be improved heading into next season.
They will need to reach a whole new level this week, however, as they take on a scorching hot Illinois team that’s won its last six. Currently, the Illini are No. 36 in the women’s basketball NET, the highest-ranked team that Mizzou has faced so far.
In addition to hosting Illinois, Mizzou will travel to play a SLU team always itching for an upset. Here’s what we know about the week ahead for Kellie Harper’s hungry team.
Mizzou’s rivalry week didn’t start off right with a competitive loss to Illinois in the Braggin’ Rights.
Mizzou went ice-cold when the stakes were the highest. After pulling within two points of Illinois with just over two-and-a-half minutes left in regulation, the Tigers missed seven of eight shots from the field, bookending a night that started horrendously for the home team with shooting the rock.
Missouri was right there, but a loss in the Braggin’ Rights was missed opportunity.
Plus, the latest update of Marquise Davis entering the transfer portal.
