Multiple sources are announcing that new NC State basketball head coach Justin Gainey has hired his offensive coordinator, Anthony Goins from UGA. The school has yet to announce the hire.
Goins is originally from Greensboro.
He started his coaching career at Dartmouth in 2013. He then worked for James Jones at Yale, Baker Dunleavy at Quinnipiac, Brad Brownell at Clemson, Earl Grant at Boston College, and Mike White last season at Georgia.
There are already 7 UGA players listed in the portal, including 6’11” rising junior Somto Cyril.
Goins ran the offense at Georgia and KenPom liked it.

Other staff information buzz:
Riley Collins is on staff, he is in Raleigh and working with Coach Gainey as he interviews players. He served the last two seasons as assistant director of player development at Tennessee. No clarity on what exact role he will play for the Wolfpack.
Patrick Stacy is in Raleigh and is expected to be retained as GM but no formal announcement yet.
The next hire is rumored on several sites to be Matthew Driscoll. Last season he was the Associate Head Coach at Kansas State and served as Interim Head coach when the head coach was fired mid season. PJ Haggerty was on that team. He is a long time veteran with years of head coaching experience.
