It had been expected that the Las Vegas Raiders offense would often feature the quaretrback working under center more in 2026 as the team begisn the Klint Kubiak era.
That approach was evident in the first preseason game, a home 27-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals last Thursday night. According to a recent X post by NFL analyst Warren Sharp, the Raiders’ quarterbacks were placed under center 63 percent of early downs in the first half. That was up from 43 percent during last year’s preseason under former
offensive coordinatorr Chip Kelly. The 20 percent increase was one of the highest in the league in Week 1 this year.
We should expect that trend to continue tonight when the Raiders play at the Houston Texans and into the regular season.
