Maryland men’s lacrosse looks to have a bright future ahead, as one of its highest-rated recruits, Brady Mollot, was named the Baltimore Sun Metro Player of the Year.
Mollot, a five-star recruit ranked 19th overall in the nation, has been committed to play for the Terps since
September 2024. He is a homegrown prospect, making a name for himself on the attack at Archbishop Spalding in Severn, Maryland. His graduating class was a year behind that of Maryland football star quarterback Malik Washington.
In his senior season, Mollot exhibited a keen, yet balanced, eye in the attacking zone. He was credited with an impressive 37 goals in 2026, coupled with a hefty 58 assists. His skill set will likely come into play earlier than anticipated.
With huge pieces of Maryland’s attacking core exiting after a disappointing season — including Eric Spanos, Leo Johnson and Braden Erksa — Mollot’s unique skillset may come in handy as the Terps navigate a difficult restructuring period.
Looking to return to the mountaintop of college lacrosse next season after entirely missing the playoffs in 2026, Maryland looks to make the most of Mollot and other new talents.
