Jiri Prochazka vs. Khalil Rountree Jr. squared off in a Light Heavyweight contest earlier tonight (Sat. Oct. 4, 2025) live on ESPN+ pay-per-view inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada in UFC 320. In a wild brawl, Prochazka scored the third round knockout win.
Shockingly, it was Prochazka who opened the fight with a low kick. When he fired a second, Rountree just missed with a big counter swing. A moment later, Rountree landed a solid left hand. Prochazka was using his length well with jabs and long
kicks, but Rountree was swinging with more power and targeted the body well with his hands. Prochazka timed a huge jump knee, but Rountree answered back with a heavy combination then blasted a high kick. In the closing seconds of the round, Rountree landed a big combo and then got backed off by return fire.
It was a reasonably competitive round, but Rountree definitely landed the nastier shots.
Early in the second, Prochazka landed hard with a spinning elbow, perhaps his best shot yet. Rountree took his left hand to the body to good effect. Rountree’s low kicks were landing more often as well, so Prochazka increased his pressure a bit and started scoring with the jab. Prochazka’s right kick was finding a home as well. Rountree’s counter punches continued to be an issue for him, however. Rountree landed a few nice kicks in the closing exchanges of the round two, which was much closer than the opening frame.
With five minutes remaining, Prochazka was likely behind and began the third by walking into a hard counter left. Then, a sneaky lead hand uppercut from Prochazka seemed to stun Routnree a bit. “BJP” started really opening up and chasing his opponent, and both men found hard connections as a result. Despite some big lands, Rountree didn’t like the pressure or the heavy offense coming his way. He looked wobbly on the retreat, and Prochazka ripped into the body with front kicks and digging punches
Rountree was hurt bad when Prochazka grabbed the double collar tie and landed vicious knees to the belly. Before long, the two were in close quarters trading hard elbows, slicing and dicing. Rountree nearly secured a rest in the clinch, but Prochazka managed to break away and smash him with a 2-3 combination.
“The War Horse” hit the floor, face-first.
This was a strange showing from Jiri Prochazka, who really didn’t apply pressure until the third round and spent a lot of time slipping on the canvas in the early going. When he did turn it up, however, he found immediate success. Rountree was deeply uncomfortable with his foe’s pressure, and Prochazka did great work in really hammering the body while building to his third round rally.
Strange or not, it was awesome.
Result: Prochazka defeats Rountree via third-round knockout
