Barcelona starlet Hamza Abdelkarim has been called up to the Egypt squad for World Cup 2026 and will be hoping to make an impact at the tournament this summer.
The teenager has impressed in his first few months at Barcelona and the club are expected to make his stay permanent. Hansi Flick has already admitted he “could be an option” for next season.
Abdelkarim in now on international duty and has been receiving plenty of advice from Mohamed Salah, according to Diario Sport.
The Liverpool talisman has
reportedly been taking great care with Abdelkarim and believes “he has great talent and the ability to carve out a successful career if he continues to work and evolve with the same seriousness.”
Salah is said to have asked to room with Abdelkarim during Egypt’s current training camp and has been offering advice as well as trying to “guide him” through his first days with the senior squad.
Being mentored by Salah can only be of huge benefit for Abdelkarim. The 33-year-old developed into one of the best in the world at Anfield, winning Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League titles with the Reds.
