Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique was extremely happy with his team after pulling out a 5-4 victory over Bayern Munich last Tuesday, but the manager acknowledged that it was not so easy to keep his team motivated to face FC Lorient in Lique1.
“It’s tough to switch back to league duty after such an important match in a fantastic atmosphere; motivationally, it’s a challenge. This result is disappointing because we really needed the three points,” said Enrique after the FC Lorient match (as
captured by Goal). “We only fielded two players who started on Tuesday evening, and we tried to control the game as we wanted to. We wanted to win, but we missed that chance.”
While PSG went a little more conservative with its lineup, Bayern Munich opted to split the workload in an effort to keep its regulars sharp with at least some minutes in a 3-3 draw vs. Heidenheim on Saturday.
Which strategy will ultimately work best? We shall soon find out.
