The first day of fall means cooler temps are on the way and we’re also yet another day closer to the start of the Kentucky basketball season.
With Big Blue Madness now less than three weeks away, head coach
Mark Pope is apparently ramping things up at practice.
As of yesterday, Kentucky’s basketball instruction allowance was raised from eight hours to twenty (with one mandatory day off) per week.
The Wildcats have several new faces on this year’s roster and there probably aren’t enough hours in the day for the team to take advantage of their time together on the practice court building their team chemistry.
According to Adam Stratton, Kentucky players were granted some time off before the grind really picks up this week with some taking a quick vacation and others taking advantage of the time off to recover from minor injuries.
Basketball season will be here well before we know it, so it’s time for Pope, his staff and his players to dial it in before their first exhibition game against Purdue on October 24th.
