Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia went under the knife on Saturday after sustaining a knee injury and will be out for around 4-6 weeks.
It’s a blow for Barcelona, as the new signing has impressed since joining from Espanyol, but is now set to miss some key games including next week’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Barcelona are hoping he could be back in time for the next Clasico and are refusing just yet to rule him out of the match at the Santiago Bernabeu, according to Diario
AS.
The two old rivals meet for the first time in the 2025-26 campaign on October 26th which will be just over four weeks since Garcia had his operation.
The goalkeeper’s procedure was said to be “clean and easy” and there were no nasty surprises, unlikely what happened when Gavi had knee surgery this week.
Barcelona are hoping that Garcia can recover quickly and are currently looking at a timeframe of about four weeks. If that does prove to be the case, then he could potentially be fit to face Los Blancos.
