Former Rams edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr., a player who helped L.A. reach the 2018 Super Bowl, has signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Seahawks. The 31-year-old pass rusher is now on his sixth career team and has never spent three consecutive seasons with one team.
Going into year 11, Fowler will now attempt to help defeat his old team in what’s sure to be a hotly-contested NFC West rivalry in 2026.
Drafted third overall by the Jaguars in 2015, Fowler was traded to the Rams midseason in 2018 for a third and fifth round pick. He had 1.5 sacks in three playoff games with L.A. that year, then his finest career season when he had 11.5 sacks for the Rams in 2019.
However, Fowler’s inconsistency and lack of dominance never jived with his performances and he moved onto the Falcons in 2020, followed by two separate stints with the Cowboys and one with the Commanders. He had 3 sacks for the Cowboys in 2025.
Fowler will be replacing edge rusher Boye Mafe, a free agent who signed with the Bengals for $20 million per season. Seattle would still expect DeMarcus Lawrence, Uchenna Nwosu, and Derick Hall to be their top three outside linebackers next season, but in the NFL…things do change in a hurry.
And for some players, change happens often.
