Chelsea Women return to Stamford Bridge tomorrow to face an Everton side responsible for one of our rare league defeats last season. The Blues have been in excellent attacking form in recent weeks, but the Toffees’ defensive resilience could make this a rather different challenge from our recent encounters.

Chelsea team news: The Blues were in devastating form against Charlton Athletic last weekend, scoring four goals inside the opening 19 minutes before completing a 6-0 victory at The Valley. It was our seventh consecutive league victory, with Chelsea now having scored 18 goals in their last four WSL matches.
Head coach Sonia Bompastor has confirmed that Lauren James will miss the remaining matches before the international break after sustaining a hamstring injury against Charlton. Naomi Girma also remains unavailable with a calf injury, while Mayra Ramírez is still sidelined. On a more positive note, Lexi Potter has returned to training after recovering from the knee injury she suffered against AS Roma and is available for selection.
Everton team news: Scott Phelan’s side have had an inconsistent start to the season, sitting eighth in the WSL with ten points from eight matches. The Toffees have won just one of their last five league encounters, suffering consecutive defeats to London City Lionesses and Aston Villa before holding Manchester United to a goalless draw at Goodison Park last weekend. Their defensive record has been more encouraging, however, with three clean sheets already this season.
Everton made several significant additions over the summer, bringing in Australian forward Holly McNamara from Melbourne City and defender Hannah Blundell from Manchester United, alongside Naomi Layzell on loan from Manchester City. Meanwhile, Kelly Gago departed for West Ham and Katja Snoeijs joined Ajax.
In terms of injuries, Holly McNamara is sidelined with a hamstring injury, while Inma Gabarro, Zara Kramžar and Karen Holmgaard remain unavailable with knee injuries. Midfielder Honoka Hayashi is also out with a calf problem, while young forward Issy Hobson continues her recovery from an injury sustained in September.
Previously: Mayra Ramírez starts it, and Lauren James completes the second half comeback over the Toffees.
