UFC middleweight Bo Nickal told Sean Hannity that three-time welterweight title challenger, Colby Covington, was offered the opportunity to compete at UFC White House on June 14 in Washington, DC, but turned it down. In fact, Nickal insists “Chaos” rejected multiple offers to battle the three-time NCAA Division I national champion, despite these claims to the contrary.
“Everyone knows what the truth is,” Nickal said. “He was offered the fight. He’s adamant he was never offered the fight … he’s going
to try to spin it his own way. [UFC] could absolutely clarify it. My conversations with Hunter Campbell at the UFC, who does the negotiations, he’s like ‘this date, this date, this date … offered, offered, offered … I don’t know what you want me to do.’ I have a respect for him as a fighter, as someone who goes out there to do it. But I think as a person, he’s the opposite of everything I believe in. He’s never gonna fight me.”
Instead, Nickal will fight fellow unranked middleweight, Kyle Daukaus.
“It’s crazy that [Colby] doesn’t want to fight me so bad that he ended his entire career,” Nickal said at the UFC White House media day on Wednesday. “Probably a smart move by his part.”
I guess idiots can be smart sometimes, too.
Covington retired from UFC last month to focus on his new career with Real American Freestyle (RAF).
