Bayern Munich’s ultras never shy away from making their voices heard. The Südkurve in particular frequently displays tifos or banners conveying their feelings, and they might just do another one, this time against the Oktoberfest kits and the modified club badge that came with it.
According to Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), the protest began in fan circles under the name “Joint fan campaign for the ONE FC Bayern shirt.” The call for participation states: “In order to raise awareness of the idea of ONE FC Bayern shirt,
we want to carry out another campaign at the next home game, based on a form of action that was already successful several years ago as part of the club colors campaign.”

Here is a statement from the Südkurve and what their, er, advocacy is for:
We want a red and white shirt that represents our identity: Mia san Bayern! One that is instantly recognizable: Unique in red and white! One that conveys our history, anchored in the hearts and memories of entire generations of fans. One that represents our community, as the pillar of our club identity. We want ONE shirt for the coming years and decades – like the other major clubs that are recognized around the world at first glance by their shirts. One that reflects our club philosophy as a constant: a member-led global club, in bright FC Bayern red with white collars.
BFW Analysis
This is just misinformed. Protesting the Oktoberfest kits for not having red and white? Surely, they’re aware that Bayern and Adidas intentionally designed the Oktoberfest kits differently from the home, away, and third kits. The month long event is a cultural pillar of Bavaria and in itself is recognizable by most; as a club that embraces culture, an Oktoberfest kit is a great way of honoring a unique heritage. If anything, they should rally against the design of the home shirt because Adidas gave other clubs better designs, but I digress.
Bayern has released six different Oktoberfest kits over non-consecutive seasons: the 2013/14 away kit which resembled the Lederhosen, and a special one-off kit every season starting from 2021/22. Five of those six bore green in varying degrees, save for 2022/23 which was maroon, so it boggles the mind why the Südkurve would be against this season’s special kit yet stay silent during the past years. It’s not a worthy cause and they should just let it be.
