Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany was — obviously — not thrilled with his team’s 2-1 loss to FC Augsburg.
After all, it was the first loss for the Bavarians in the Bundesliga this season.
However, the Belgian manager also recognizes and acknowledges that his team is battling through a condensed schedule with an injured and ill roster, even if he will not use any of that as an excuse.
“When you have seven games in 20 days, then each player who is out for a week will miss three games. And then when
he comes back he needs time to get to full fitness. It’s not an excuse, I’d like to have everyone fit, but there are no long-term injuries. We shouldn’t look for excuses. We should fight as we always did and get results despite the situation,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich does need some time to get healthy, but the loss against FC Augsburg was more of a product of poor performances than anything else. Kompany surely knows that and will look to get things right for a midweek Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven.
