Good morning, Canes.
Here we go to start your Sunday:
Miami sends the Seniors out with a bang, destroy NC State 41-7
Miami kept the blowouts coming, easily dispatching the North Carolina State Wolfpack on Senior Day by a score of 41-7.

Miami is now 8-2 (4-2 in ACC) on the year, but we all know that’s not good enough. Miami needs to win out — and get TONS of help elsewhere — to have a chance at the College Football Playoffs. The chances to make the ACC Championship game are very slim, but possible. We’ll talk about that later today.
The Canes have played all 8 of their home games for the season, and now head on the road for the final two games. Bundle up for trips to Blacksburg and Pittsburgh! Speaking of which….
Next up: road trip to Virginia Tech
The season’s not done and Miami will keep on fighting!
Their opponent next week: the Virginia Tech Hokies. Fresh off a 31-14 loss to Florida State, Virginia Tech will look to play spoiler to Miami’s hopes of making the College Football Playoffs or ACC Championship Game, or both.
I know this team will try to recreate the magic of nearly beating Miami, but clearly and correctly losing on an incomplete Hail Mary last season. I know Kyron Drones has talent. I know they’ve gotten a few surprise wins under their belt….but I just can’t see Miami losing this game.
Obviously, Miami needs to continue to play with the joy, freedom, and EXCELLENCE of the last couple of weeks, but even absent that, this should be an easy win for the Canes.
Miami open as massive favorites over Virginia Tech
As expected, because they’re the more talented team in every game they play all year long, Miami are big favorites over Virginia Tech in week 13.
“Cool story, Cam”. I know, I know. Just sharing the number, same as I have every week this season. Do with that information as you will.
Other scores around the ACC…
Final: Clemson 20, #19 Louisville 19 (Friday Night) — I say again: Louisville is mid and it pisses me off to no end that we lost to them!!!!!! Clemson tried to give this game away, but Louisville tried harder and succeeded. 2 missed FGs and a missed extra point and down goes Louisville, again. While I’m not happy Clemson won, because I hate them, the loss for Louisville moves them clearly behind Miami at 4-3 and out of the conversation for the CFP and ACCCG. So that’s a win for me!
Final: #9 Notre Dame 37, #22 Pitt 15 — Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi said he’d be happy getting blown out by Notre Dame, and he got his wish. A pretty bad no-show by Pitt, but as Narduzzi said, the focus for Pitt is winning the next 2 ACC games, not beating Notre Dame. Still, it would have been nice for Miami’s CFP aspirations if Pitt had won. Dah well.
Final: #16 Georgia Tech 36, Boston College 34 — Boston College was up 3 scores, but couldn’t close out what would have been a seismic upset win. GT clawed back, and won the game on a chip shot FG with mere seconds left in the game. Absolutely gutting for BC, who was hoping for a win to build on, and for Miami, who really could have used a Georgia Tech loss.
Final: #19 Virginia 34, Duke 17 — This wasn’t even close. Virginia was up 31-3 after 3 quarters and coasted to a win. Duke coach Manny Diaz said they got their asses kicked. Understatement, coach.
Final: Wake Forest 28, North Carolina 12 — Very upset we don’t get the opportunity to beat the shit out of this terrible UNC team this year. But those are the breaks.
Final: North Carolina 20, Stanford 15 — Don’t look now, but the Tar Heels are 4-5 and have a shot at a bowl game. Taking full advantage of a VERY LIGHT ACC Schedule through the back half of the season. And Stanford is still quite terrible, so this was a gift for Carolina.
Final: FSU 34, Virginia Tech 14 — FSU needed this win in a big way with rumors swirling that Mike Norvell’s job status is pretty insecure. Virginia Tech was no match for the Noles on Senior Day, and now prepare for a resurgent Miami to come to town next week. Damn.
