Starter Sesko
A start looked on the cards last week, but it wasn’t to be. He’s surely got to start this week. It looks like Amad Diallo’s most likely going to make way, which is fine as Amad has started every game since returning from AFCON. For Benjamin Sesko, the task is fairly simple: keep the run going.
Performance Levels
Playing at Old Trafford against a confused Crystal Palace side screams a comfortable win, but things are never that easy. Having said that, Michael Carrick will hope for a better
performance than what has occurred in the last two weeks.
The last home game against Spurs was fairly comfortable, but United had a man advantage for most of the game. The win against City has been the high point since Carrick’s arrival, and the hope is that the side recaptures parts of that performance this week.
Get the Job Done Before the Subs Are Called Upon
Bar the Spurs game, subs have played a big role since Michael Carrick’s arrival. It was Matheus Cunha at first, who was followed by Benjamin Sesko. With both expected to start, it’ll be interesting to see if the side can get the job done before the subs are called upon.
Of course, if that isn’t the case, the likes of Joshua Zirkzee and Amad Diallo will have to turn up. On paper, they don’t seem as threatening as Cunha and Sesko and could perhaps give some insight into Michael Carrick’s selections since his arrival. How this unfolds will portend what’s to come for the rest of the season.
