The Cleveland Browns were leading going into halftime of Week 11 versus the Baltimore Ravens. While that was big news, QB Dillon Gabriel being evaluated for a head injury led to the NFL debut of QB Shedeur Sanders to start the third quarter.
It was unknown when Gabriel was hurt, as he was in the game to hand the ball off to RB Jerome Ford to end the second quarter. At halftime, Gabriel had completed seven passes on 10 attempts for 68 yards.
In Sanders’ first possession, the quarterback completed his
first pass for five yards. Following a holding penalty, Sanders completed a seven-yard pass to TE David Njoku before taking a sack for a loss of 11 yards. Cleveland recovered Sanders’ fumble on the sack before punting.
A Heisman Trophy candidate in college, Sanders’ social media status and famous, Hall of Fame father Deion Sanders, surprisingly fell to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft. Gabriel was, also surprisingly, drafted by the Browns in the third round.
