It’s been almost three weeks since we last saw Chelsea Women on the pitch. Their return has finally come with the Blues travelling to Goodison Park to play against Everton in the Women’s Super League.
Everton were one of the few teams able to draw blood from us this year, and really helped derail our Women’s Super League defence. If there is a place and time for sweet revenge, that is Everton’s historic stadium on a Sunday afternoon.

Everton team news: In their first ever season with Goodison Park as their permanent home ground, the Toffees haven’t felt much of a difference performance-wise. They’re on pace to finish the season mid-table with at least 20 points scored, something they’ve done multiple times in their Women’s Super League history. And they do have the “honour” of beating the Blues at home this season — an event that last took place back in 2013.
They haven’t had any new injuries reported in this (long) international break period. Meaning they can go at us with full strength, depending on how tired their players are from all the travelling they’ve had to undertake this month.
Chelsea team news: In comparison to the dominance of years past this Chelsea team could be considered a shell of themselves. But we all know this comes from a place of massive privilege where wins against the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham were almost a guarantee. This isn’t the case anymore and even then we can still beat them on a day where officiating doesn’t decide to blow everything up as it did over the two legs of our Women’s Champions League quarter-final clash with the Gunners.
What also blows is the fact captain Millie Bright’s recovery from injury is taking longer than expected, and that means she won’t be back in the mix for this Everton game. Same case with Aggie Beever-Jones although her recovery outlook is somewhat better.
Previously: Several goals from several different players in a 5-0 away win.
