Indiana continued loading up on edge rushers through the transfer portal on Monday.
Chiddi Obiazor, a sophomore edge rusher formerly of Kansas State, has committed to join the Hoosiers out of the transfer
portal, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3/Rivals. He’s a 3-star transfer prospect ranked as the 38th highest-rated edge rusher and 292nd highest-rated prospect overall. He was previously a 3-star prospect at the high school level, having attended Eden Prairie High School in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
Obiazor has spent the past three seasons with the Wildcats, redshirting as a freshman in 2023 before stepping up in 2024, playing all 13 games with a single start and earning honorable mention status from the Big 12’s coaches in Defensive Freshman of the Year voting. He’s totaled 47 tackles (27 solo), four passes defended and six sacks in those three seasons, with the bulk of his production coming in the latter two. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Indiana has prioritized defensive line play, a theme that’s become apparent through the first three offseasons under Curt Cignetti.
