The Los Angeles Rams entered the season with a plethora of offensive weapons for Matthew Stafford, but now another one of those options is injured: The Rams placed tight end Terrance Ferguson on injured reserve on Friday.
Ferguson left Week 3’s loss to the Denver Broncos with an ankle injury. He is third on the team with 12 targets, catching seven passes for 63 yards and a touchdown. The 2025 second-round pick had 11 catches for 231 yards as a rookie, but is in danger of prolonging the wait for patient
Rams fans hoping to see the potential that made him a top-50 pick for Les Snead.
The Rams entered the season with seven receivers, five tight ends, and three running backs. Among the laundry list of issues already:
- Puka Nacua missed the last 2 games
- Ferguson is on IR
- Ronnie Rivers is on IR
- Xavier Smith was waived on Friday
- Colby Parkinson has not practiced this week and is Questionable
- C.J. Daniels has been a healthy scratch every week
- Tutu Atwell has been active for one game
- Max Klare has been a healthy scratch every week
Nacua is set to return to the field for the Rams on Sunday against the Eagles. Alex Bachman, yet another receiver who did not make the original 53-man roster, is set to become the team’s punt returner after waiving Smith. Klare is probably going to make his NFL debut in wake of the injuries at tight end.
The Rams are not beating the “shades of 2022” allegations.
But if they can just beat the Eagles, who ruled out receiver DeVonta Smith this week, that would help.
