On October 15, 165 caps and 48 goals after making her international debut, Jess Fishlock decided it was time to let others take the mantle.
Now, she’s back in an entirely different role.
After retiring from international play with the Wales Women’s National Team in October, Fishlock is returning as a technical assistant for Rhian Wilkinson and Cymru.
“She’s coming in as an technical assistant,” Wilkinson said. “I know as a former player who became a coach, it’s quite a leap off a cliff.”
According to
the Seattle Reign, she’ll be at the opening match against Czechia before returning to the Seattle Reign for preseason training.
“She’s obviously in preseason with Seattle so a big thank you to Seattle and to her coach Laura Harvey for allowing us to borrow her for the front end of this campaign.”
