The Phillies are making moves today.
Bringing back Stubbs is a wise move for a team that is woefully short on catching depth, especially at the level closest to the major leagues. Stubbs can serve as an emergency reserve should something catastrophic happen to whoever the starter may be.
They also claimed an outfielder off waivers.
A 27 year old outfielder formerly of the Orioles organization, Leon is going to be good depth for the team. He hit 24 home runs at the Triple-A level in 2024, so there is some pop there. Again, the team adds depth to a spot where they have precious little of, particularly at Lehigh Valley.
