After firing Pete Carroll, the Las Vegas Raiders have requested to interview Denver Broncos quarterback coach Davis Webb for their head coach vacancy, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Let’s get
to know Joseph some more:
Current job:
He is the Broncos’ quarterbacks coach and offensive pass game coordinator, adding the latter to his title this season.
Age:
He will turn 31 later this month on Jan. 22.
Coaching experience:
He’s only been in coaching for three years, all with Denver and under the Broncos’ current head coach Sean Payton. Webb was a third-round pick by the New York Giants just a few years ago in 2017, and had a five-year career as a backup quarterback before getting into coaching.
Other interest:
At the time of writing, no other team is known to have requested an interview with the young, up-and-coming coaching candidate.
Why the Raiders are interested:
With the No. 1 pick of the 2026 NFL draft, Las Vegas is expected to add a rookie quarterback in April. Despite his age, Webb has experience working with a rookie passer, helping develop Broncos’ 2024 first-round pick Bo Nix, and is viewed as a future head coach candidate. That being said, he feels like a long shot to get the job, and the interview is likely to gauge how he could be as an offensive coordinator. The Raiders also requested to interview Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, so Joseph could bring Webb with him to call plays in Vegas.
