Germany failed at the FIFA World Cup in North America this summer. Plain and simple. But who is at fault for the failures of the national team? Mounting pressure from critics, fans, and the DFB would imply that Julian Nagelsmann is at fault, and it appears that his time with the national team is coming to an end in the coming days.
As per reports from Bild as captured by @iMiaSanMia, the DFB bosses suggested to Nagelsmann that he consider resigning voluntarily. While the official decision has been
delayed, the coach has been given time to consider his options. While the decision has not yet confirmed, it is obvious that the bosses at the DFB are offering Nagelsmann a way out so he can leave the situation ‘with his head held high.’
Based on these reports, it seems as though Nagelsmann will be on his way out, one way or another. For Nagelsmann, he gets to decide if he wants to leave honorably, or force a dismissal, which would result in him receiving a large severance package.
The once exciting project that Nagelsmann created in 2024 and early 2025, took a sharp turn after the failure of the 2025 UEFA Nations League, and despite creating momentum before the World Cup, things ultimately fell apart once again when it mattered most.
