Barcelona have been hit with another injury issue over the international break as Xavi Espart was forced off injured playing for Spain’s Under-19s on Tuesday.
The right-back had to go off in the 79th minute and appeared to be suffering from some kind of muscle injury, per Mundo Deportivo.
Gerard Romero reports the RFEF are saying “in principle, nothing” when asked about Espart’s injury, which seems to be good news, and Barcelona will be hoping that is the case.
The Catalans have already lost Raphinha
to injury while playing for Brazil and won’t want to see any more players sidelined ahead of a crucial run of fixtures.
Espart has just broken into the first team and made his debut in the Champions League clash with Newcastle United.
He’s already been compared to Philipp Lahm by manager Hansi Flick and looks to have a very bright future ahead of him at Camp Nou.
