Bayern Munich drubbed RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, blowing off some much needed steam after frustrating draws on the road against Augsburg and Viking. Vincent Kompany pulled some key starters early in the second half in anticipation of this big match against the defending Premier League champions, Arsenal. Bayern will be forced to avenge last year’s 3-1 loss in London without the services of Michael Olise who was sent off in the Viking match with consecutive yellow cards.
Arsenal has
enjoyed another strong start to the season, winning every match except a weird 3-0 loss to Brighton. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expects to have most of his squad available, setting up a fantastic tactical showdown with the German giants.

Three things to know (via FCBayern.com)
- Bayern has not suffered a home defeat in the Champions League group/league phase since December 2013.
- Lennart Karl was the first player to score on Arsenal in the Champions League last season. Arsenal has not conceded a goal in either Champions League match this season.
- Harry Kane has scored 15 goals in 22 matches against Arsenal, punishing the club that cut him at the age of nine
Prediction
Bayern draws 1-1. Frustrated with a 0-0 scoreline at the halftime whistle, Bayern’s set piece struggles will continue as they concede a corner kick goal where there are multiple bear hug tackles that go unnoticed by the referee. As Arsenal shells up, second half substitute Tom Bischof will rip an upper 90 shot from the top of the box to bring the match level. Both teams will hit the woodwork in the final 10 minutes but have to settle for a draw.
