The first half of the New York Jets preseason game against the New York Giants is in the books, and the Jets are trailing the Giants, 7 – 6.
The game opened with the Jets on offense. They got a first down before being forced to punt, pinning the Giants deep inside their own 10-yard line in the process.
The Giants than commenced a 93-yard drive for a touchdown and an early 7 – 0 lead. Nearly all the yardage came on a bomb from Russell Wilson to Beaux Collins on which Jets safety Andre Cisco made an awful
play, coming forward and letting Collins blow by him when Cisco was the last line of defense.
The Jets responded with a long drive, running the ball nearly every play. The drive bogged down inside the Giants 25-yard line and the Jets settled for a Nick Folk field goal, bringing the score to Giants 7, Jets 3 late in the first quarter.
The score remained 7 – 3 until the Jets offense took over with less than three minutes left in the half. Adrian Martinez led a long drive highlighted by two big plays to Arian Smith. The Jets ended up settling for a short field goal by Nick Folk. That brought the Jets within one point at halftime.
We go into the second half with the Jets trailing the Giants 7 – 6.
