The football season has taken priority over recruiting news, but it is time to start getting familiar with the class of 2027. Even though the 2027 class can’t sign for over a year, it is never too early for prospects to begin narrowing down their options.
Per On3’s Hayes Fawcett, four-star 2027 Las Vegas (NV) Arbor View tight end prospect Zac Fares announced that he has narrowed his recruitment down to eight programs,
Fares announced that his decision process is now focused on programs such as Miami,
Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, UNLV, USC, and Washington.
Texas has done a good job of involving the tight end position in the offense since Steve Sarkisian’s arrival, and that has resulted in guys like Ja’Tavion Sanders and Gunnar Helm getting drafted to the NFL. While the Texas tight end room has several interesting pieces already on campus, it is never too early to continue building towards the future and stacking talent.
This recruitment is still in the early stages, but it is clear as things sit that Fares is a coveted prospect for several Power Four programs, and that includes the Longhorns.
Fares is rated as the 13th ranked tight end prospect in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings and the third ranked player in the state of Nevada. Fares is ranked as the 219th rated prospect in the country by the same metrics.
