When LSU dismissed Brian Kelly, that also meant OL coach Brad Davis was out. Davis had been the main recruiter for 4-star Bryson Cooley out of Laurel, Mississippi. Alabama tried to get a commitment from
the 6-6/315 offensive tackle over the summer, but he instead went with LSU in July. With all the tumultuous turnover in Baton Rouge, Cooley opted to not commit on Wednesday so he could make a sober decision on his future. That life choice turned out to be signing with the Crimson Tide on Friday.
He has no senior tape, but does have the junior highlights.
Cooley traveled to Tuscaloosa for a VERY quiet unofficial visit one day last week. He is a consensus 4-star and ranked around the 200th best player in the nation.
