Dillon Danis has bowed out of yet another fight and, unsurprisingly, the MMA community is less than sympathetic.
The always controversial Danis was scheduled to fight Mike Perry in the main event of Duel Arena card this Saturday in Orlando, Fla., but at Thursday’s press conference for the show, it was announced that Danis has been forced to withdraw from the contest, with UFC veteran Brandon Jenkins taking his place.
Danis later blamed the withdrawal on an arm injury, showing off a gruesome cut on his
Instagram.
He also posted the following image to Twitter:
Though Danis, a former high-level Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitor, has been involved in high-profile bouts in the past, including a 2023 boxing match with influencer and WWE Superstar Logan Paul and a pair of recent RAF wrestling matches against Khamzat Chimaev and Colby Covington, the 33-year-old’s list of cancelled bouts is longer than the ones he’s actually shown up for.
Since 2018, when Danis expanded his interests beyond grappling tournaments, he has competed just six times (as of now, he is still scheduled to wrestle Arman Tsarukyan at RAF 14 on Oct. 3).
