The Los Angeles Chargers offense is taking a hit after tight end David Njoku has been carted off in the first half against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2 at SoFi Stadium.
Njoku suffered a knee injury in the first play of the second quarter, which could keep him out of the rest of the game.
The Chargers are hoping Njoku can be a big part of the offense as a target for Justin Herbert.
“I’ve
been playing this game for a very long time, so at the very least I can add knowledge,” Njoku said about what he adds to the position via the team’s website. “I think my athletic ability speaks for itself, as well as the other tight ends.
“I think we can push each other to be really good,” Njoku added.
With Njoku on the sidelines, the team will rely on Charlie Kolar and Oronde Gadsden to replace his production. Njoku feels confident in what the position group can provide.
“I feel like we can be destructive,” Njoku said. “We got the tools, we got the keys, we got the players to do it all. It’s up to us to put it all together.”
The remainder of the Raiders vs. Chargers game can be watched on CBS or streamed on the Paramount Plus app.
