After a long wait, Denver Broncos football is finally back. Yesterday, the veterans made their way to the team’s new facility to join their rookie counterparts to begin this year’s training camp. Today and Thursday, the team will participate in ramp-up practice sessions. On Friday’s, the first official training camp practice will be open to fans across Broncos Country.

Meinerz and shutdown cornerback Patrick Surtain II addressed the media. They lauded the new facility, praised the current ownership group for their efforts, and also offered their opinions on a variety of other topics.
One of the first things that caught their attention was the revamped locker room. It’s a big change from what they were accustomed to in the past. However, sometimes change is necessary, and the recent revamp had both star players over the moon.
“I couldn’t stop smiling. It was incredible. I feel like it has more of a social atmosphere to it. It’s kind of like a big room with an underlaid couch, TVs, so I’m excited to see the flow of it,” stated Meinerz. “The storage I have in my locker is going to be nice. I’m kind of organizing that right now, seeing how the new flow’s going to be.”
“It’s been a long time coming. The locker room is crazy. It’s quite unique, too. It just gives a different feel, a different vibe. It’s like we’re leaving that in the past and we’re entering a new state, a new year,” added Surtain.
With a new season on the horizon, the Broncos are back in business. There is no more waiting—the dearth of the offseason is finally over. Over the coming weeks, they will diligently prepare for the battles to come facing one of the NFL’s hardest schedules in 2026. Meinerz, entering his sixth season with the franchise, is eager to take the upcoming challenges head on.
“I’m really excited about this season coming up. I would say this is the most excited I’ve ever been about camp. It’s been really good to reflect on all those things and come up with a better plan moving forward,” stated Meinerz.
While the Broncos ended last year’s gridiron campaign short of reaching the ultimate goal, it was still an impressive season. The team broke numerous team records and led the league in sacks for the second year in a row. On top of that, they secured their first division title in a decade, cementing themselves as a true title contender and a force to be reckoned with inside the AFC West and beyond.
Boasting continuity in scheme and bringing back high-quality starters at most positions, Denver is poised to compete for a Super Bowl again in 2026. They addressed significant needs this past April in the 2026 NFL Draft and made a big swing trading for Jaylen Waddle to help take their offense to the next level. For those reasons and more, Surtain spoke with the utmost confidence in this year’s group of players.
“I think we have all of the right pieces and the right team. The coaches invest a lot into us and pour a lot into us, too. When you put all of that together, it makes for a great team. We have the right guys with the right mentality to start things off the right way. This team is great all across the board,” remarked Surtain.
Just how great can the Broncos be? Only time will tell. Though one thing is for certain, every coach and player is eager to prove they have what it takes to be champions. The time to put in the work is now.
“Our expectations are pretty high, but we are just going to take it week-by-week. Obviously, that’s the main goal, but it starts right here in training camp and it starts early on in the season. Our main focus is to start out fast and start out hot early. That way we can prepare ourselves to get to that stage.”
