Barcelona sporting director Deco is seemingly busy making plans for the summer transfer window and has been looking at ways to raise funds.
According to Diario Sport, Deco has a ‘clear strategy’ for the summer and it goes something like this…
Firstly, he wants to free up space on the wage bill and that means a decision on Robert Lewandowski. The striker will either leave on a free transfer or stay on drastically reduced wages.
Deco also wants to find a way to offload Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Ansu Fati.
Both players are on loan but whether a permanent exit can be found for either remains to be seen.
And then it’s time for some sales. Sport say that Deco thinks Barcelona will have to sell two players if they are to make room for a new center-back and center-forward.
There are no names mentioned so far but previous speculation has claimed that Barca are willing to listen to offers for Marc Casado this summer.
Barca’s transfer plans are now on hold, as we’re in election season, but look set to restart in earnest next month when the club’s next president has been confirmed.
