He climbed Mt. Everest and, love him or hate him, he is unabashedly himself. That’s really all the context you need for the news former AEW World champion Darby Allin shared with Jon Alba of The Takedown on SI.com
Dangeous Darbs is running the New York City Marathon on Nov. 1, 2026. He’ll do so as part of a group of 50 runners raising awareness of AEW partner Kulture City, which bills itself as “the world’s leading nonprofit on sensory accessibility and acceptance” and works to assist neurodivergent
people and others with similar challenges so they can experience things that might otherwise be uncomfortable or overwhelming, like concerts, sporting events, and pro wrestling shows.
It’s his first marathon, but don’t expect Allin to change up his routine to prepare for the 26 mile race, telling Alba:
“I don’t even have running shoes yet.
“I kind of want to just go into it fully blind. Everyone’s like, ‘you gotta know what you’re getting yourself into.’ I was like, I kinda wanna just wing it, and it sounds so fun. So I don’t know if I’ll if I actually train for it. Yeah. I kinda wanna just wing it and push myself.”
No word on whether or not he then asked for a cup of water and poured in down his face.
There’s only one Darby Allin. Good luck to him on the NYC Marathon… he should have the cardio, but we’d recommend getting some Hokas or Nikes and not trying to do 26 miles in Doc or Chucks or Vans.
