Barcelona star Raphinha says he’s feeling good and is not feeling too tired ahead of the team’s next game against Newcastle in the Champions League.
Hansi Flick’s players are in the midst of a hectic schedule, with fatigue an issue after a gruelling Copa del Rey second leg against Atletico was followed up by a trip to San Mames.
Barca managed to win 1-0 against Athletic Club to restore their four-point lead at the top of the table, and Raphinha says he’s in good shape ahead of another big week.
“I am
not as tired as some of the other players. After all, I am recovering from a minor injury, so I have had time to rest. I feel good,” he told reporters.
“It is true that there is some fatigue from the last match because it was a very tough game, and that is normal. The most important thing is that we secured the three points.”
Flick left Raphinha out of the starting XI against Athletic Club, in a bid to manage his minutes, but he will be expected to return to the line-up for the game at St James’ Park.
