Now that we are another week closer to the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, myself and my good friend Meko Scott are back with a second iteration of our 2026 Detroit Lions mock draft. In our first attempt last week, we decided we would draft using our own perspectives on what makes sense for the Lions. This week, we went with a different approach—specifically with what we thought Lions general manager Brad Holmes could do once draft weekend gets here. And if we are being honest, it wasn’t
easy.
During his time in Detroit, Holmes has established himself as one of the best evaluators in the league. In both 2023 and 2024, Holmes won PFWA’s Executive of the Year. With that said, him being an elite evalutator doesn’t necessarily lend itself to him being predictable. In fact, it is likely the opposite. If you need a reminder, take a look back at the 2023 NFL Draft, where Holmes and his staff took a running back and an off-ball linebacker with their first two selections.
So with all of that in mind, we tried our best to think like Brad for this second mock draft, and I think most will be happy with the results. Spoiler alert—if you want the Lions to be aggressive this year, you will likely be a fan of our process.
