The Green Bay Packers’ next opponent, the 0-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, faced some tough news in the fourth quarter of their loss to the 3-0 Minnesota Vikings: Their starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield, dropped out of action with a dislocated thumb on his throwing hand, according to Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles.

Mayfield went 17 of 34 for 217 yards and 1 touchdown and 1 interception (along with six sack) against Minnesota, while QB2 Jalon Daniels was 0 of 3 for an interception on a Hail Mary attempt.

Daniels is an undrafted rookie, and this was his first NFL regular-season action of his career.

For what it’s worth, the Buccaneers’ practice squad quarterback is Easton Stick, a 31-year-old former fifth-round pick who was with the Indianapolis Colts during training camp until the roster cutdown deadline. Stick has only been with Tampa Bay since August 31st.

The Buccaneers haven’t rule out Mayfield against the Packers in Week 4, yet, but keep an eye on the situation this week. If Mayfield can’t go, Tampa an undrafted rookie is likely to get the start against Green Bay.
