Hansi Flick is currently preparing his team to face Sevilla in La Liga on Sunday, with the game sandwiched between two Champions League last 16 ties with Newcastle.
The Catalan giants head into the return fixture at Camp Nou next week after a 1-1 draw at St James’ Park, putting them in a good position to qualify for the quarter-finals.
Yet the current run of fixtures has caused tiredness in the squad, with Flick tipped to rotate his team for the next game.
The German coach will be without Frenkie de
Jong, Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde due to injury, while Eric Garcia remains a doubt after missing the draw on Tyneside.
According to Diario Sport, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Marc Bernal, Pedri and Ronald Araujo are expected to be given a breather at the weeked. Sport think that Lamine Yamal will start again despite missing training on Thursday due to illness.
Flick’s rotation means that Marc Casado is likely to come into the team, Xavi Espart could get a first start and there might even be a few minutes for Gavi off the bench following his return to fitness.
